Misfire almost every morning at start up
I have a miss fire almost every morning at start up . Vehicle shakes but no check engine light on . The miss fire goes away after driving the car for about 5min and then everything goes back to normal, I changed all the spark plugs and vehicle still has a miss fire every morning , I was doing some reading and a lot of people say the injectors go bad , the older style ones . How would I know if I have the older style and not the update ones ?

Think the first thing to do Is to read the error codes via the OBD2 port. Use either a BMW compatable code reader, not one as found at AutoZone, AdvancedAuto or the like, something like Carly for BMW or one of the laptop software packages, like NCSexpert, ISTA, INPA, or one of the other proprietary SW packages. Then you will have a much better overview of what's going on and a course of action to fix it.

I would second the software. Even though there is not a check engine light on its recording it. It sounds like an air leak somewhere to me or a coil but I would look at the codes on the computer first and start troubleshooting.

Swap the coil to see what you get if it jumps then you know your issue if not check you spark plugs then injector.

Sorry, I should have asked the mileage on your car. Typically a n54 get about 35-45k miles to a set of plugs, with the turbo.

Sounds like leaking injectors. If you pull the plugs one or more will likely be fouled or wet with fuel from the injectors leaking when the engine is cold. Once the engine warms up it will run fine, but you may start getting misfires under load.

I'm coming from the 335i world (same N54 engine though) and it sounds like your issue is more than likely a leaky fuel injector on that cylinder, though more may be having undiagnosed issues.
Coils typically will get weak and/or go bad and stay that way, so conditions wouldn't improve once the car is warmed up. Same with spark plugs.
Injectors will typically leak during downtime (i.e. overnight) making the cylinder rich in the AM, causing the stumbling till it burns off. Once the vehicle gets up to operating temp the symptoms may disappear as the problem is masked.
A good BMW code reader (MHD for instance) might help diagnose other problems and will let you log so you can post results too.
You're looking for Index 12 injectors as the latest and greatest.
EDIT: And howdy, by the way. I'm coming over from E90post (same screen name) as I'll be picking up a new-to-me E61 535xi in deep sea blue here in the next couple days.
