I have memory seats and two keys so it's taken me a while to realize that the mirrors do their own thing, unrelated to keys or memoryseat settings. I may park the car with mirror in perfect setting; only to return 5 mins later and when I check the drivers side mirror (occassionally also passenger side), it may be adjusted out to the extreme left. I then compensate, moving it back in place. Next time I'm away it then seems to remember the old setting + the compensation and now it is in all the way to the right! Drives me bonkers. No amount of resetting the memory seat will do any good. I've find a couple of threads on this in another forum and it seems the cure is either a replacement mirror motor or cleaning off the wire terminals. Personally I'd be inclined to think there should be some kind of software reboot that might do the trick so I hope to hear from you.

I have the same problem w/ my driver-side mirror (and, on occassion, steering wheel) and it's driving me nuts. I'm thinking maybe it's the battery going bad.
