A week ago my display was showing a distance of 500km to microfilter change, this counted down to "service due" then "service overdue".
Was just planning to book it in with the dealer when 2 days ago the Service display reverted to "Microfilter OK" with 2500km to go.

Is this usual?

Thanks

I had the same thing happen with my safety inspection. The windshield sticker was about to expire and iDrive so noted. I did not get it inspected on time, but the date in iDrive advanced a year at EOM. I think some of the messages may be calendar driven.

How does it smell when you turn on the AC?

Mine did the same thing as well. I just went to the dealership and explained what happened. They changed them out along with front brakes. I think you should take advantage of the service plan on every item.

my car did the same,,,at first,1400kms to airfilter service, i was at the time driving no more than 50 kms a day but the idrive was counting 200kms a day...in a week it went down to zero....after that i remember it poped back to 1100kms..i think its normal...maybe a sensor checks the parts perodically then gives it to the idrive that gives an estimation....

I've got exactly the same thing 'Microfilter Service'. It said it was due, so I booked it in, then the next day said it was OK so I cancelled the booking.

A few hundred miles later it's now saying it is overdue, so I suppose I'll have to book it in although everything seems to be working fine, no odd smells from the aircon.

What is the microfilter anyway? Is it in use all the time, or only when you press the re-circulate air button?

Anyone know how much should I expect to pay for it to be replaced by my dealer?

It filters the cabin air. After the warranty period it is easy to change.

I had the same thing where it was due, then it added some time back on. I just waited until my vehcile check came up to take it in.
