I currently have Continental SportContact 2's which are very noisy and ride rough. Discount Tire is strongly pushing me to the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus. Anyone have these?

BTW, I have 19" Style 172 Wheels.

I have them on a 325i, 17's. Very quiet, comfy. High treadwear rating. Haven't really driven on them all that much, since that's the lady's car. I think they would work well under most driving demands unless you expect to be pushing really, really hard.

I have had them for almost two years, and they make a great year-round tire, especially if you get some cold, but not a lot of snow. Like the previous poster said, you're not going to notice a huge difference between the PS2 and the A/S unless you're powersliding through slolams all day. They are superior to any tire I've owned in wet weather.

I have had them for about 18 months, my favorite tire. Much better ride than the Contis with no loss in traction that I can tell.

I should note that most A/S tires will ride better than an extreme performance summer only tire but in my experience no company combines great handling, with good noise and ride characteristics like Michelin.

Are the Pilot Sport's the "PS2? If so, I know these come highly recommended, but they were also much more expensive than the A/S+

Ah yes, sorry about the lack of clarification. Yes the PS2. The reason they are expensive is because they are the best tire in teh Michelin lineup and highly regarded. I love them because they offer endless amounts of grip, with beautiful steering response while still keeping a very comfortable ride. I used to think that combination was impossible until this tire. (its not a mushy ride, its still taught, but comfortable without harsh bumps). The rain performance of the PS2 is outstanding and you would think it was first designed in the rain and the summer performance was an afterthought

But dont forget, the PS2 is a summer tire so do not attempt to use in the snow, the car will slip and slide (as has happened to me!). If your car sees snow and you do now want to use snow tires, then you should get the A/S. If you dont care about snow, I dont see any benefit of the A/S as compared to the PS2.

PS2 are very expensive but worth every single penny

Snow is not an issue for me. I want grippy performance that will give me confidence, but without the road noise that this type of tire tends to have. Realistically, Monday thru Friday I don't need any performance as I only commute 3 miles to work on city roads without getting above 40 or so. This being the case, I'm not sure the $400 price difference is worth it for me. I ordered the A/S + today. I already am returning the Conti ContactSport 2's that I just bought so I hope that I don't get the A/S + and not like them and want to return for the PS2...
