How would it be bad for the transmission ? It doesn't know which foot you're using

........I was just talking about removing the delay when you have to lift your right foot off the brake, move it over to the gas pedal and floor it. If your left foot is on the brake then you can both release the brake and hit the gas at exactly the same time.
That's how the pro's do it.

There was a Lexus IS-350 at the light the other day (roads where very clear) and I was looking around for cops left and right and was paying more attention to looking for cops than the light. I got a horrible start, like 1 second late. Of course he beat me. I was pissed after that because I know I could have beaten him...
It will be close, but off the line IS350 will beat 545i or 550i. I don't know what the exact manufacture claiming 0-60 numbers are for both cars, but based on my real life experience, IS350 will beat any 5 series off the line except of course the M5.
I just did a quick research and found stock IS350 4.9-5.1 and stock 550i 5.4-5.6.
Lexus' 3.5L V6 engine sounds like potato got stuck in the air filter, but they do pack some punch.

I wouldn't bet on that. I've already posted on this forum a while back about a friend's IS350 beating another friend's 545i.

Good stories.
I never think my car has enough power. I doubt that would change if I got a M5. Maybe a Veyron would change that.

The 550i is from 4.8 (Motortrend) to 5.6 (Edmunds), 1/4 mile is from 13.3 to 13.8s. Motortrend usually performs much more agressive launch
I actually raced a IS350 around Summer last year. We were at the traffic light and the road is merging from two lanes to one. When the light turned green, I got a good launch (thanks to Sprint Booster) and was about a car length ahead of him @ 80s MPH.
