I also find that recently I have to press and *hold* the memory button to move the seat to the memory postion. If I release the memory button, the seat stops moving. It used to move into the memory postion with just a press of the memory button.

Not sure what's causing that.

Thats normal. If you open the car door and push the memory seat button, the seat and wing mirrors will adjust to the saved position with one touch. If you sit in the car, key in ignition, you have to hold the memory button. This is a safety feature to stop one touch moving the seat all the way back with pedals and steering out of reach of the driver at 80mph.

If you don't have the memory you still have the key memory. The key will store how your seat is adjusted, what radio station or entertainment source you were listening to at what volume, etc...
If it doesn't, there is something wrong with your software!
Key memory is not an option, it's available on any E60 as a standard feature.

You only know you need an update if your software has bugs and is malfunctioning.
If your keymemory doesn't work you should report it to your dealer and he will probably start with an software update.

Any other UK owners with partially electric seats (as standard in UK Sport models), who can confirm or deny that they have key memory that remembers last seat position. ?
Cheers.
