Just because there are millions of squirrels in the world doesn't mean that they can organize and take over the place.

Although, if they could, that would be kind of funny.

There is such a group and it's called BMW Car Club of America. They have several thousand members and if you are a full fledged member for one year and you purchase a new or pre-certified BMW they will give a check for $1000 US. They also offer discounts on parts and have meetings and other chapters.

Well, I've been a member in good standing for almost 2 years now and they still haven't sent me my $1000 check when I bought my '08 535i 4 months ago, even though I submitted all the necessary paperwork-on time.

It the above numbers and logic hold true then basically BMW has broken even on the E60 from the purshcases of the members of this site. It costs roughly 1 Billion USD to redesign a car flike the E60 from the ground up. This figure includes testing, launch marketing, retooling machinery, everything.

Thats a retail sale value rather than the price at the factory gate. You then have to take out the cost of manufacturing, staff, materials, dividends etc from the total to see what is really left.
