Dear brothers and sisters in Europe, Asia, Australia, Canada etc...

Is BMW offering a 2008 LCI 550 with dynamic drive in your market with new 19 inch wheels with non-run flat tires and modified sports suspension calibration? Or is this change for the 08' 550 only for the American market?

If you do get these changes as well, I'd like to know if anyone can compare the stiffness and handling of a new 08' 550 sport with dynamic drive to an existing M sport 550 or 540.

Thanks,
DRP

Check www.bmw.co.uk

Might be able to spec one on that with those options?

If I'm not mistaking, BMW has offered two sports packages in Europe for some time - a "sport" pack and a "m-sport" pack. We've never really gotten a good explanation of the difference, but I've been assuming the the "revised" sport suspention on the US 550 Sport is the same as the European m-sport. This is all conjecture though.

Any help from Europe?

Not in EU, and we are still living the MY '07 overhere.
We are talking about the same are, though.

The EU 550i comes with 17" 225/55 tyres as standard, Sport Package gives 18" 245/40 18".

But as an option also 19" rims are available.

For comfort, the 17" 225/55 are the best.

There's no package here, you just choose what engine you want and see if there's stock as every Bimmer that comes to HK are with the same options with bigger engine car having better equipment. If you want to order options, you would have to wait about three months or so.

There never were different sport packages. To start with the M-sport models were just called sport and then later they just changed the name to m-sport with no difference. The only other thing you could spec was sportier suspension which only consisted of a set of lower and stiffer springs.

Thanks. A follow-up question if you don't mind:

When you say that you could spec a "sportier" suspension, do you mean sportier than the regular suspension or sportier than the sport suspension?

sportier than regular. Standard suspension with the m-sport springs. 15mm lower and a tiny bid stiffer.
