I got quote from an indy for $870 to do the mechatronic sleeve. Is that a good price? I've been getting the tranny slam and delayed reverse gear. It only happens when the engine is cold.
Thanks guys!

I got mine done for $550 at a reputable indy shop. Therefore I would say $870 is very high.
I believe that is around what the dealer quoted me.

The price is for new sleeve, pan, and filter. Is that still too high? It's the only reputable indy near me and its already an hour away. My only other option is the dealer. I will call them for quote tomorrow. Thanks guys!

Oil change kit for 6HP19/21
service kit (pan/filter, fluid) is $238. sleeve is another $16. Seems high to me unless they're changing out the fluid too. They'd be silly not to.

I would agree that the price is high. Especially if they are re-using the fluid which it sounds like they are. I paid 733 for mech, sleeve, filter/pan and new fluid. The dealer quoted me around 900 for same. Not sure which part of NJ your are in but I had mine done at Bavarian Specialties in King of Prussia Pa. It may be worth 140 bucks to drive down and have it done there. And they give free loaners much to my surprise.

If that is an indy I would say it is high. I got mine done at the dealership for about 730. Which did include fluid and filter.

Got a call from the shop today he said he'll top off the tran fluid for now and see how it runs. He pointed out the fluid was low. The shop is MD motorwerke in somerdale nj. If any members here been to them and have any feed backs I'll appreciated.

Eventually you will have to change the sleeve if is is leaking. When you drop the car off, take a look at the sleeve to see if oil is running out of it. It's located on the passenger side towards the back of the transmission about a 1/3 of the way up.

He said there were no leaks from the tranny so therefore he's going to top off the fluid. Although, I found engine oil leak in front of the engine. Mechanic said its the oil pressure switch. Taking care of that first. I'll update on the tranny issue. Thanks Vapiano
