May sales of the 5 Series were down 8.4% when compared to May of last year. Even worse, YTD sales for the first 5 months of 2007 were also down 15.4% from the same 5 month period of 2006.

By comparison, sales of the Mercedes-Benz E Class were up 0.8% in May with sales of 4,102 units this month and 4,070 units last May. Sales of the MB E Class were up 12.4% for the first 5 months of 2006. However, the 5 Series outsold the E Class by a mere 590 units during the first 5 months of 2007.
