Of ourse they do.

With chip tuning you allways get better results, and with Diesels too. Having a chipped Diesel, you get the absolute best result...

But is the chip good for the engine? My dad had a Volvo V70 2.4T (200 hk) before he got the E60, and we got it chiptuned, and got better results. But we took the chip away from the car after 3 weeks, because the engine didn't like it at all.

Maybe we should get our 530dA chipped.. I'm just worried if the gearbox can handle the huge torque <_<

But the originally 500 NM is actually enough for us

400 miles is the max my tank can cover with a mix of Motorway and town driving.
It's amazing that some drive an 530i can achieve nearly 500 miles.

My Ride: 530d SE - silver grey, black leather, auto, active xenons, active steering, bluetooth, business satnav, 6cd, poplar wood trim. chipped by West tuning - 260bhp - more torque than Ican use and still 37mpg !! fantastic!! Previous bimmers.. 318is, 323coupe, Z3 1.9 and 2.8, E39 540 sport, E46 330ci convertible (still want an 840!!)

530miles between fill ups - regularly ...36.6mpg

no loss in economy since having it chipped by west tuning in Andover

683km thats about 425 miles... averaging 80miles per hour...

the E60s tank is 18.5 gallon tank...

say u filled up 18gallons...

thats avg of 23.6 mpg... not good enough....

Best ever done in the 545 is

294 miles averaged 18.65 mpg

Best done in any car is

417 averaged 33 mpg
