Hello guys, so my car was in for service at the stealer for a noise coming from the engine, today the S.A told me that he would have to replaced the manual transmision because of a noise that is coming from the inside since they don't open it to get it fixed, thank god is all covered, but he also ask me if I wanted to put some type of a performance part on the tranny. but some aftermarket as he would not charged me for the labor, something I would have to look and buy, because they are taking the tranny down, does any one know something about a performance?

thanks

Mabye he's referring to a lightweight flywheel, short shifter, or high performance clutch.

what engine do you have? if you don't have a V8 I don't think you're going to need any stronger clutches.

see if they're willing to ditch the Clutch delay valve, though...

if you're going to keep the car a while and have >40k miles on it now, have them change out the main seal. it's a relatively cheap part but the only way to get to it is to drop the transmission. it will eventually leak, so might as well do it now if you won't have to pay labor.

by the way, it's not a V6, it's an I6. all 6 cylinders are inline, and this is one of BMW's rather unique features. (yes, there are other inline 6 engines, but they're getting few and far between.)
