Does anyone have recent Manheim auction prices for 2010 535I available?
It seems like the E60's are a fairly hot used car...it may be time to consider an F10 or an A6
Thanks!

Auction not so great:

I looked for the past 6-9 months for a 2008-2010 e60 on Manhiem with a friend who is a used car dealer. BMW NA usually has cars every week or two and they are rated 1-5 on the site with picutes and extimated cost to make them a 5 (100% showroom). 2010 e60 535i in "good" shape with 12K - 21K miles run $36,000 - $43,000 at Manhiem as of last week. 2008 e60's are $8 -10,000 less, but need some work (tires, brakes, door dings, bumper scrapes, etc). DO NOT BUY Older than 2008. The LCI update in 2008 makes the car so much better than the 2004-07. I ended up looking local in CT at a number or CPO cars but made my purchase at Raylle BMW in Long Island NY, BMW's largest single site dealer in the US. Found the car online, confirmed the build data, service, carfax etc with the sales guy who e-mailed me the build sheet and history on the car. Did all the paperwork via e-mail & fax. We set up a date for me to pick up the car, i took the train into Long Island and the sales guy picked me up at the train station which is 5 mins away, signed the paperwork and was driving in 30 mins. The car was $8,000 - $10,000 less than local dealers, CPO, 28,000 miles loaded Xi and I financed the rest with BMW at .9%.

The same car at Manhiem PA would be about the same price as I paid, but then add the fees, shipping to CT, a few bucks to my dealer for paperwork, plus detail the car, take out a ding or two and you then have to pay cash for the car. Used car loans are 4-7% which could add $100 a month to a payment vs. 0.9.... and it's not CPO from Manhiem. In talking with several BMW Dealerships in the search of my new 5 series I found out that ALL BMW Dealership need to take back a certain percentage of cars they lease. So, if you can find a high volume dealer near you they will negotiate far more that a low volume dealer. Plus, if you can time your purchase in the last week of the "Promo" cycle (the 3 month CPO sales event BMW NA runs) you can steal a CPO car from a BMW dealership who needs 1 or 2 more units sold to get their bonus money from BMW NA. I did just that a picked up my car way under Kelly Blue Book - trade In Value. I did have a 2011 535xi F10 as a loaner to 2 days while my car was having a sunroof issue fixed, I have to say the F10 is a great car. Fast, quiet, redesign was done right this time. It is a bigger car, huge trunk and felt "heavy" on the highway....the bad: The "efficiency dynamics" was hard for me to understand. The car seemed to go into a "neutral feel state" when you let up on the gas and the efficiency dynamics turned on, then a split second lag before the motor picked up. This drove me nuts, but the 8 speed transmission was an upgrade to the 6 speed I have which seems to switch out of 1st way to early.

Hope this helps, I was dead set to get my next 5 series from an auction and found a better deal at the Dealer!!!

Thanks
I am trying to get base line on what to expect if I decide to trade in my 2010. This with KBB, Edmunds & NADA should give me some good data.

this is great feedback. Also if you can find great CPO in a private sale even better. Depending on the state you can save some money not paying taxes.
