Yesterday I spent the day installing my lighting kit from Motorcepts (HID Fogs & AE's, 6000k Low/Highs). I worked on the install off and on all day in the garage. After installing the Fogs and Low/Highs(which were working and looking wonderful)and late in the afternoon, I hooked up the AE's to test and make sure I had everything connected correctly. They worked and looked great
Now to hide the ballasts/diffusers and ziptie up the cables. Got this done in about an hour.
Now the fun begins
Of course, I turned the lights off and on all day testing w/o running the car and did get the low battery warning(not the first time for this...planned on putting a charge on overnight). After getting everything connected and place where they need to be, I turn the lights on and the AWD and DSC Malfunction Error starts flashing...Damn what they hell did I do now. I turned everyting off and started the car to move out of the garage hoping to reset everything. Dangit...no change still getting the error. Now I get to take it to the dealer and get to be scolded for working on my car and it's gonna cost a ton to fix
So I decide to do a search on the forum and low and behold someone posted it's because of a low battery and all that's needed is to reset the computer by turning the steering wheel fully to the right then left. No way it could be that easy. Well, I got in the car and tried this reset method and holly cow it worked. So, I went for short drive and charged overnight and drove to work this morning w/everything working just fine
This forum is great and I appreciate everyone posting such useful info!!!!!
BTW...The lights work and look awesome
I'll post some pics soon.
