I'm soon going to be coming out of my 04 525i and most likely getting into a 2012 S5. Just curious what you guys think... My friend (drives an ML... doesn't really know much about cars) has been on my case about not getting an Audi (he knew two dbags in high school who drove Audis ha). He says why not stick to BMW? My response was... they don't make anything as nice as an S5 in that price range. The F10 is an awesome car but too big for me. Thoughts? Comments? Concerns?

My Ride: 04' 545i, Sport Package, Black, Active Xenon, ARS, Aux Input
'10 Tahoe, Black on Black, leather, Nav/XM, 20" tires, full body kit, power 2nd row, loaded
'93 Jeep Wrangler, lifted 4.5", 33" meats, Rampage Recovery Bumper w/Tire Swing, etc
25' Aquasport Osprey, Center Console,2012 200 HO Etec
The S5 is really nice... but why not test drive something with balls in a 5'er... no direspect to your 525i, but that model isnt really known for its high end hp and performance.... then drive the S5 and see what you like better.

No his opinion won't affect my purchase, but it just made me think. Anyway, I'm aware that my car is slow and I'm okay with it. I've driven fast 545/550 and faster (m5) 5ers, it's just that I'd rather not get the F10 mainly due to size... it feels/looks a little heftier than the E60. I've driven S5 before as well. I'm just curious if you think it's a good move. I'm getting the car regardless, this is simply me just wondering what other 5 series/BMW owners have to say.

Finding a lightly used CPO 528i manual (naturally aspirated I6) was very difficult. Luckily I found one without all of the expensive options that I didn't want to pay for. Took a while and I had to pick it up 1300+ miles away, but she's perfect.

Yeah it's tough... I was referring to the s5 but the E60s in manual are equally rare.

Have to agree with poster above , M3 is the way to go,if you don't want the size of the F 10.
I have owned 2 Audi's and they are not in the same league as BMW's ,IMHO.
