Has anyone recently purchased an extended maintenance plan for their 5 in the Chicago market. When I bought the CPO a few month back I inquired but seem high ($2,200) for a <50k CPO. I read on some forums that their was a dealer in Atlanta selling them at rock bottom, but appears their web site is gone. BMW USA must have shut them down.

What is the real cost on this product?

What dealers in Chicago are offering this price?

Thanks

I dunno which dealer but I think twin kidney grille was offering really good deals for a while but I think they've shut down now.

I don't think you need to purchase the extended maintenance plan in Chicago, any BMW dealer in the US would do. Maybe people can chime in which dealership is offering the lowest price for this plan?

Kidney was the group out of Atlanta, and I do think they are gone.

Thanks for your thoughts.

I paid $1400 for mine at Perillo in 2007 but that was all part of the negotiation when buying the car. Depending on how you drive the car, the EM is not the best deal. If you get the Std oil changes ($109 per change) you are looking at maybe 3-4 changes. If you do not have a car under warranty then you can find really good Indy shops which will change your brakes for much cheaper than the dealer with same or better parts($800) I guess throw in a couple sets of windshield wipers you are only at $1200-$1400. Other than that, there is not much more you get. I get about 40K miles on my breaks and i live in Chicago. But then again I am not on the gas until the last minute like most people are. An yes I drive the car sporty.... Save your money.

Ya I agree, that why I never bought it... the numbers (for me) never added up to my benefit... brake job then maybe break even...

LOL yup you waste more gas and more brakes and is not efficient. I try to drive sporty efficiently... Not that any of my cars are efficient in the first place HAHAH
