Default Maintenance chart for our cars?

Wish there was at least a general chart... Anyone seen one? The cars nowadays run on the Condition Based Service, which only covers these AFAIK:

Engine oil
Brake pads, front and rear separately
Brake fluid

Other things, I'd like to know, like I do my Cabin Air Filter every two years.

What about the Engine Air Filter?

Spark plugs?

Anything else? Or are they supposed to hook up the computer to the car and it tells them?

I go to an indy now for work, and it would be nice to know what I should book my car in for, based on mileage or time. I do my engine oil once a year, regardless of mileage. I do 10,000 miles a year, mostly highway, which is less than when the CBS would require a change.

I've got 50,000 miles on the car now, and it's been on the road for 5 years.

check out Bav Auto's maintenance guide. Since you're at 50K, I'd change the transmission fluid/filter, do a drain/fill of the coolant, and change the steering fluid if they haven't been done already.
I'd change all 3 air filters every 15K/1 year as well, I just did mine and they had 15K-the cabin ones could have gone a bit more but the engine filter didn't look so good.

I'd leave the trans fluid/filter alone. Filter is part of the pan and fluid is very expensive. You're looking close to 1000 bucks to change fluid and pan.

N54 plugs should be replaced every 37k, or earlier if you are modded. Engine air filter should be replaced every 3rd oil change if you go by BMW's cbs data. Good idea to replace the air filter when you replace the spark plugs.

Bmw has no recommended interval on power steering and coolant. They say coolant is lifetime. It used to be 4/50, but they no longer offer a coolant flush as part of their maintenance plan. I tell my customers 4/50, unless a part such as water pump, tstat, rad, etc has been replaced. In which case new coolant should have been used.

Other than that I'd recommend a intake valve carbon blast sometime @50k.

When trans fluid/filter should be changed? my E60 has done 110K. Should I change them?

Thanks for that PDF. I'll take a read thru it and see. The BavAuto guy though seems really conservative with his suggestions... A brake fluid flush every year seems overkill unless you're tracking the car?

What about the power steering and the transfer case fluids? Every two years for those too? Hadn't heard of that...

Or the fuel filter every 3 years/45K? I'd never thought of that...

I had my end of 4 year warranty maintenance done a year ago, and luckily, they also did the spark plugs, air filter, walnut blast, and cabin filters, so I should be good on those for a while.

BMW recommends trans fluid and transfer case fluid change at 100k. There is a test plan to reset the transfer case control module once the fluid has been changed.

I think 2 years on power steering and brake is fluid is more than sufficient.

The fuel filter is in the tank on e60s and is considered lifetime, I believe it is integral with the sending unit and transfer lines.

This is the first I hear of power steering fluid change at all, no less every two years... Why don't they publish this stuff?

I don't like to just show up at a dealer for the required oil changes and be told on the spot, oh by the way, you need all this other stuff done too... If that's their plan.

Came across this N54 maintenance chart also, which it states is for the 335.

This should be a good chart to follow, also for the 535i. It is based on Mike Miller's 2009 maintenance schedule which was updated 2013, but basically remained the same for our cars.
