m5 steering wheel with non sport airbag

i just bought a m5 steering wheel, came with just the wheel, no controls/inserts or airbag. I was comparing the steering wheel with my non sport wheel, and noticed that the controls/insert/triangle airbag may fit right into the m5 steering wheel. Its the exact same size. Wondering has anyone tried this before or know if it will work?

My Ride: 2005 Jet Black 545i w/ sport pkg, nav, HUD

no. you need the round airbag.

you responded on my wtb thread and stated that you retrofited/rewired the new airbag, did you happened to have any details on how you did it?
