Default M5 Brakes Installed (pics)

Hi Guys,
So I finished installing the front and rear brakes. There are many DIY's out there on the various forums, which helped. The front calipers and rotors are a perfect fit.The rears do require some cutting of the dust shield.

There is a another fitment issue with the rear that no one really mentioned: The set screw holes on the M5 rotor do not line up with the hub on my 550. I thought about drilling a hole in the rotor hat- but then decided against it. So my solution was: not using set screws on the rear rotors. It seems like these set screws only real function is the keep the rotor lined up with the hub while installing the caliper and and maybe the tire. I used a wheel hanger during the install and it worked just fine.

I also included a pic of the rear- I got LCI tails a few months back and just thought I would share. They are definetly one of my favorite mods.

Looks Awesome! Does anyone know if the M5 brakes fit the 535xi's?

Can you notice a difference in braking? Is it worth the effort vs the improved braking?

Thanks guys.

Yes, I definitely have noticed better braking. My stock front 550 brakes were single piston. The M5 front calipers and 2 piston. The rear calipers are very similar, the only difference I have noticed is that the rear M5 brakes have larger caliper carriers.

I think they should fit a 535xi.
