Looking to replace my wheel to the M-Tech type, ive heard from a pal of mine that he was looking to do the same thing but when he bought the wheel it came off a push start model and wouldnt fit! is this true my car is a 2003? Also if any one knows what part no. wheel would be compatible with my car as i have been looking on ebay and most of them appear different. Thanks in advance

Radioham has a M5 wheel with the paddles. Its an excellent price and I would certainly pick it up. Look in the classified and he is UK based and an excellent guy to deal with.

If you have an Auto its best to think ahead an buy a wheel with paddles. You may then decide to buy the kit from my530i that allows gear changes via the paddles too.

Anyway send radioham a PM or see http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=49758&hl=

What wheel do you have at the moment? Is it an SE wheel with the hexagonal airbag?
If it is then you'll need a new round airbag to go with the new wheel and they're more expensive than the steering wheels (?550 new)!

As far as I know, the steering wheels changed after Sept 2005.

Yes its the hexagon type. like i said i was told by a pal of mine who tried to do the same that if the wheel came of a push start it wouldn,t fit! But why are the part no. on five different wheels on ebay all different! But are all advertised from 2003 to present? Me thinks i will have to phone the dealers and see which is compatible for my model.
