I am correct in thinking that you can't get the M-Tech kit as a factory option in the US? I see all these US members buying the kits from Quad and others vendors and i was wondering why on earth you can't get it as a factory option delivered on the car, it seems crazy?

Because there is little demand for it. If you look at what US dealers carry as inventory, 90% don't even have the optional sport package. The US members on this board are exceptions to the typical US BMW buyer.

Well there you have it...thanks for enlightening me.

Wow 90% non sport that is amazing. From what i have seen on the roads where i am the M-Sport option 5ERS would be on par with the non M-Sport. I think BMW in Australia is seen as a "driving machine" and it tends to attract a more youthful, savvy kind of driver, the more muture distigushed driver would probably opt for a Merc. Although the 5ER is not really a young man's car down here mainly due to the price point, if i were in the US i could have bought a fully loaded M5 and had change for some 20's and few other mods for the price i paid for my 530i M-Sport.

We certinaly are the "lucky country" just not when it comes to imported "luxury cars"

you're still better off dude...

for the price we pay for a 525i in Bangladesh, you could get a fully loaded M5 or any BMW for that matter...alrite lemme just tell you, we pay about $120-$130 thousand for a 525i....and guess how much for a fully loaded 550i?? a lil more than $460,000....and that too all cash...for an M5??? dont even ask..but we do have two or three M5s there...
