M-Kit Front Bumper and its friend, the curb
Arrrgghhh, I'm soo upset right now. My dad had already rubbed the left fin (?) of the front bumper against a curb at the airport and this morning I did the same thing to the right side. 90 percent of the damage is underneath, but that 10 percent that I can see when I look at it while standing up kills me. I really don't have a question, problem, or solution, just venting at work to people that will understand my pain (you).
I guess it was a good decision not to replace/paint the bumper after the first slip up?I think I will keep the damaged bumper until the end of my lease, the damage is there, but it's not THAT noticable, and I've proven that this will happen again, and again...atleast now when I do it, it would be scratching fresh paint...it'll just be doing more damage on top of the old...
At the end of the lease, I am probably going do the replacing and repaintingof the bumper at another bodyshop before I give it in. the dealership is going to rip me off on the damages, right? Any suggestions/estimates for fixing this in the Toronto area?

i always had that phobea that the m tech bumper in the front is really low.
Anyways it doesnt matter if it is noticable or not, when YOU see it your eye ''falls'' there every time you are looking at that area.Although some others that dont know its there cant really see it.I dont know why but thats how it works on some people
PS:did you check for any damages underneath?

Most of the damage is on the bottom side of the bumper, so you have to be below the the bumper to see it, but it is there...and since I know it is there, I am going to look...especially when I wash the car....
BUT, this has happened twice since I had my car (3 months)...so I don't think it's a wise decision to change the bumper already since it will probably happen again...I'm not a bad driver/parker, but I know it will happen again if not by me, then by someone else, so I'm going to hold off on any replacement parts until BMW makes me do it at the end of the lease.

Do you have Park Distance Control? I find it is a big help, especially if you remember to put it on! I am extra careful with my car now, but then it is new.
I have used Mr. John auto-collision in Vaughn. They were recommended to me by BMW Autohaus. I had a scrape on my last 545 in the rear bumber and they painted it for $ 145.00, which seemed pretty reasonable. i could not tell the difference after the repair. They told me if they did the whole bumper it would be more, but they only did the scrape and it matched perfectly.

Sorry to hear that.
I just put M-kit on and I'm very careful not to scratch/dent it. You can just get some touch up paint and mask the damage you have, and then repaint it when you return the car.

Post a pic of the damage if you can. I doubt BMW would charge you if it is as minor as you say. It would be considerd normal wear and tear.
The first week I had my car I pulled into a restaurant on an end spot to limit a door ding. Then I backed up and pulled forward to get the car farther from the next car. I pulled forward too much and heard nothing. So I got out and looked at the concrete and my M front bumper was just above the concrete but I could see no air between the concrete and the bumper. So when I got home sure enough the edge of my brand new front end was roughed up on the rear edge. Its not noticible but it taught me never to park too close to those freaking concrete slabs again. And no, my pdc did not go off. Too low. My other car is a Toyota 4 runner and I pull all the way forward with that and just the tire hits cause it a mile off the ground.
