Hi all,
I just replaced my standard gear knob with the shorter M type (25 11 7 905 310) and I'm sooo satisfied. It's amazing how much it does when using a shorter knob, tt feels much sportier. I would recommend it for everybody with a manual gearbox!!
Sorry for the poor pic quality... SE K700i and I was driving at the time.

My Ride: MY05 545i Jet Black with Auburn interior. SMG, Logic7, Sport Package, Comfort Seats, Navigation.
This knob looks exactly like my SMG knob. Except mine does not have the imprinted H pattern, just the word "SMG".

Did you replace it yourself? If so, do you have instructions?. Thanks
Grab the old knob with two hands, move your head to the side (so you don't accidently whack yourself in the face) and pull hard. Take the new one and push it on then give it a thump with the palm of your hand. A true 30 second mod. No tools required.

I have that same knob sitting at home. After ordering it I've been on the fence about it. Maybe it's time to just do it.
If you won't use it, i'll buy it from you. I work for BMW, i can get it whole sale, but if you won't use it, lets see what we can do.
