I am also new to this group in Dallas Texas area.

Does any body know this type of accessories or body shops around Dallas, Texas. You guys are all in the west cost.

Regards; /Hailu
Haha... It would seem that way. It's just that the West Coast contingent is the most vocal here from the US.

I live in the houston,TX. Does anyone know where is the best place to go in Houston? Also is it going to be that much cheaper than going to the dealership? I was quoted 4400 by the dealer. What are most people paying in the Houston area?
QUAD M (on this site) sells the kit for $1400.00 shipped. It will cost you about 1500.00 to paint and put on the complete kit...

I've seen on the forum about the average price paid was $2300-$3000. I think the $5200 price is a little high. Do a search on the forum and you'll see. I think third parties could meet or beat the $3200 cost. Call RJ's in Pleasanton and CarLab in Santa Clara. Also find out which body shops local BMW dealers use to keep the dealers price "honest". EastBay uses RJ and Concord uses Haws Import Auto Body. Don't know who Stevens Creek or Fremont uses. Hope this helps.
My car is still in Germany...awaiting transport. If I order with the dealer now I would pay $3269.
Thanks for the advice. I'll call around to get a couple more quotes from local shops.

Below is the quote the dealer gave me. Can a third party do it for a lower price?

"The body kits would have to be put on at the
port when the 530 comes in. It would cost $3269.00 before it gets
here and $5200.00 after it arrives. Would need to know if you want it for
sure to schudle it when it hits the port."
$5200 is way too expensive! You can get it much cheaper here from quad_m

I just checked out Pacific BMW in Glendale, CA and they have the kit for $1165. Only thing is that you will have to pay for shipping, tax, paint and install. I guess that would run you around $2500 installed with a third party like the ones on this thread recommended.

There is a higher mark up on this from the dealer than most options. Invoice is $2461. If you have already given the dealer a reasonable profit, ask that they cut you a break on this one and give it to you for invoice. Many other buyers have gotten that deal and you will get fast, warranteed service from the port installation. It will cost close to that much to do it aftermarket.

I have done the install myself (I have installed 2 more kits for friends since).
Just get the parts painted in a reputable shop, and install it yourself.

OR

If you are in a DFW area, PM me, I can install it for you for a small compensation $$ of my time. It should take about a day (10-12 hours).

Yes please let me know if you`d need any price quote on the M tech kit
I will be happy to assist you. As TexaZ3 mentioned if you are handy you can install it yourself as well
but its always good to have it installed at the body shop.

best regards,
Tony

$3269 done at the VPC is too high. $5200 after port is a pure rip off.
