Oh well, I guess I hit the wash function too much showing off the headlamp washers...

Any suggestions on replacement washer fluid? Should I just go down to the autoparts store? Does BMW have "special" fluid I should use?

Thanks,

Doesn't using a regular dish washing liquid generate a bit too much foam?

I'd be careful with tap water.. I would definitely run it through a filter of some sort, you never know when different minerals etc. will clog up the tubes or whatever.

BMW does use something that's a bit more than water or that blue stuff you see everywhere. I think it has some alcohol content to aid in the evaporation of the liquid. You can smell the difference when you use the fluid from the factory.

I can't remember the name of it right now but there is an additive you can buy that does a nice job and is better than the standard stuff.

I'll figure out what it's called and post again...

Not in my experience..

And there are endless varieties to choose from if you want a different scent..

My ride's lemon fresh at the moment..

Dishwashing detergent will strip the wax from the car.

I have tried many times to get Autoglym's summer screen wash additive, which is supposed to help get rid of the squished bugs on the windscreen. Cant find anywhere that stocks it though.

There's a pull down box allowing you to find UK distributors on the Autoglym website here.
