Hello, I am new Bimmer 520d owner. I have a “Battery charge very low” warning alert one minute after having stopped engine but did not eject the FOB key. (ie waiting for someone; with radio on). Also noted that clock, date, odometer reading is reset.
Battery replaced by BMW official dealer with higher capacity from 80AH 640A to a Fiamm Titanium L5100+ 100Ah 870A in Nov 2011. Battery registration also made by dealer.
2006 e60 have 111,000 Km on clock. Every day I drive the vehicle with any problem. Starting the engine on first push, with no “fading” start sound / feeling.
I have read several possible faults from alternator, alternator voltage regulator, Intelligent battery sensor (IBS).
Thanks to advise any hint what can be causing this problem and how to sort it out.
Best regards
Yannick
