HI fellow BMW lovers,
It has been 6 months since I have purchased my 2008, 550I and I love every time I step in the damn car! What an mazing machine....I was cruising last night and some doosh in a G37 decided that he wants to play rough. Now given the fact that racing in the streets is Wrong sometimes you make a wrong descision and last night was one of them for me. Anyhow, next stop light we decided to go for it now I dont have SMG or Floppy paddles so I poped it in "S" and turned off DSC and off we went.
I know the G37 is fast especially coupe S version but he lost the race in the second gear and I was ahead about a car lenght. I dont have any heavy mods just Sprintbooster mod.
Still I was impresed with a heavy 4 door sedan that was able to perform so admirably against a so called "sports coupe".
I fell in love with 5 series with my 545 and I tought a 550 would really impress me and I must say HELL YEAH it did! I have around 16k on the car and no problems to report or bitch about.
See you guys around the bend....![Twoup](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/twoup.gif)

If the F10 weighed as much as the E60 the Dinan option would have been a good option. But considering the E60 550I weights 3900lbs it's already pushing the upper limit of weight for a mid-size sedan. The F10 weights 4300lbs. It's too bad they added 400lbs to the weight of the car but didn't increase the diameter of the brake rotors, or make the suspension stiffer to compensate (it takes a longer distance to stop, and has a lower lateral G rating).
Btw, did you guys know the new F10 550I has an official 0-60 time of 5.4 sec by BMW, same as the E60 even though it's got 400HP now? The added weight offset the increase in power.

Where did you find the "official" F10 550 0-60 time of 5.4? The bmw site I looked at said "TBD". Car & Driver tested the 0-60 in the manual tranny at 5.2 and the automatic at 4.8 secs. They also said: "For comparison, the 2011 automatic trumped the lighter last-gen 550i by 0.4 second to 60 mph, and it bests the current rear-drive 750i by the same amount." I was surprised to read the newest 750i is the same speed as the E60 550. The F10's 8 speed transmission and Adaptive Drive sounds interesting. Being able to individually control everything from suspension settings to throttle response would be cool.

OK, I figured out why I thought the time was 5.4. It's the official 0-60 time for the 550I GT: http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...fications.aspx
However, the GT weighs over 500lbs more than the sedan so I'm going to take a guess that the official time for the sedan should be around 5.0.
