HI fellow BMW lovers,

It has been 6 months since I have purchased my 2008, 550I and I love every time I step in the damn car! What an mazing machine....I was cruising last night and some doosh in a G37 decided that he wants to play rough. Now given the fact that racing in the streets is Wrong sometimes you make a wrong descision and last night was one of them for me. Anyhow, next stop light we decided to go for it now I dont have SMG or Floppy paddles so I poped it in "S" and turned off DSC and off we went.

I know the G37 is fast especially coupe S version but he lost the race in the second gear and I was ahead about a car lenght. I dont have any heavy mods just Sprintbooster mod.

Still I was impresed with a heavy 4 door sedan that was able to perform so admirably against a so called "sports coupe".

I fell in love with 5 series with my 545 and I tought a 550 would really impress me and I must say HELL YEAH it did! I have around 16k on the car and no problems to report or bitch about.

Agree as well. Friday I helped a friend of mine who owns a car dealership pickup two used vehicles from other dealers he purchased on trade-in, a 2007 Lexus GS and a 2008 Infinity G35. The GS was a complete disappointment, sloppy handling and lack of power and terrible leg room for a tall person, I'm 6'6". The G35 was nice to drive straight but felt jerky in turns and not smooth like I've grown accustomed to in the 550. I realize this is more in the 3 series realm but I had a loaner 328 recently and although not as fast, I'd prefer the 328 any day.

The 550I MSport is amazing for the money, that's for sure. I only would request one addition: that the car had a quad exhaust system rather than dual tips. It would have really made the rear look very aggressive like the front.

On a side note, just wondering if it's me or not --the 08+ models have 367HP, even though that is a moderately high amount of horsepower, does anyone else feel that if the car had about 40HP more (around the 410-420HP level), the amount of power would be perfect for this car considering it's size and weight? What do you guys think?

That feeling doesn't seem to go away. I have 170,000kms on my '06 M-Sport and I still get a big smile-on every time I fire her up. It still can surprise me every now and then with what it can take in stride and is an absolute joy for road trips. Still looks like a million bucks when shined up and has no problem turning heads. I rode in a new hatchback 550 yesterday (courtesy ride from dealer) and there's no comparison. It really felt inferior.

Just picked up a 550I M-Sport on Friday. 2008, not new. Just changed out all my bulbs with the LED's from Motorcepts..Have to replace the HID bulbs and convert the Angel Eye's to HID, but too hot/humid out today..Only thing I wish my car had was the SAT option..but I am going to add that..soon.

Pre-LCI v8 here and loving it. I usually change car every 3 years but this one is the first one I actually consider keeping longer unless it breaks down.

Sounds about like the F10 550 that has 400 hp and 450 lb tq?, with a tune it is pushing 495 hp? and 573 lb tq.

Way to go buddy, put the ricer on their place .. I love my 550, I think something in the 400 hp range would been perfect.. Just my 2c
