So about a week ago I lost my car key in my house and I have searched everywhere throughout the house looking for it. I know that it is in my house, just very well hidden. I had an idea of taking an ethernet cord, splicing the wire and running it for about 20 feet, thus creating a handle that would be hard wired from my car car to the handle with the easy access feature on it. The question I have is will this in any way harm the actual door handle/ car if I were to make a cord this long, of course taking the precautions of disconnecting the battery and not touching the airbag sensors. I know this sounds like a funny idea, but you can't say the concept wouldn't work . All help is greatly appreciated !
