Hi,

Whilst driving home this evening I gave her a bit of wheelie, I cam off the accelarator and then planted it again and she seemed to have lost all power?? I knocked it into SD and kicked down but she wouldnt accelerate past 60. I knocked her into manual shift and selected 3rd and still no power!

Anyone got any ideas? Feels like some sort of limp mode.

It would help if you listed the car model, mileage, and year of your car

My car was recently serviced by my local Lexus dealership where I bought her, however they were unable to reset the I-Drive servicing reminder which reads -4000 miles for oil service. Is is possible that the car has gone nto limp mode because it thinks it has gone 4000 miles over the service interval?

I had a similar problem with my 2005 535d Auto. After hard acceleration, depending on load, the engine would enter some kind of limp mode and would barely reach 70mph. The only fix was to stop and restart the engine. It pulled good until it triggered the limp mode, so I decided it's not a turbine problem. After checking many options to fix the car, the service found a little piece of tubing, going from the turbine to the EGR sensor, that was cracked. Tube replaced for 50EUR, problem gone.
Does your 530d run normally after you stop and restart the car?

Hi, yeah she runs fine for the first 10 mins (trip from my village into nearest shops in town), however I noticed today that theres a slight knocking when pulling away from a junctions. It doesnt do it all the time, perhaps once every 5. I also had a bit of knocking when selecting reverse but only when the vehicle actually starting moving?? Starting to worry now! I only bought her 7 months ago from a Lexus meain dealership in Edinburgh so I should be covered with the 12 months warranty.......I am assuming the box will be covered! GULP!
