I was adjusting the volume on my stereo the other day and noticed that the knob can be wiggled from side to side. It seems looser than it should be.

I never noticed it before. Has anyone else?

I took delivery on the car at the end of June.

thanks
Michael

I have the same problem.... I think this is quite common on the E60...
Maybe it is just a case of loose knob for the loose nut behind the wheel!!!

Is it loose from where it's supposed to be fastened, or is it just the knob itself giving in due to its own elasticity? The latter is normal.

its hard to tell - it just seems to move a lot more than it should if it is just due to elasticity. I guess I can wait to see if it falls off - then worry about bringing it in.

I think Mark545 may have a point

It pops on and off. Just pull it a little and it comes off. Its made of a flexable rubber. THats why it's a little woobly.

That ugly knob can be pulled out easily. It's ugliest volume knob I've ever seen.

I had a posting of that problem before and no one had these replies. I was going to have them fix it when I made my apointment to get my led brow's back (but was waiting till 19) because everyone said they there knob's wern't loose (no pun intended) so it's OK it does that?

I think you should have your idrive software updated.
