(Loose?) 6-speed Shifter Knob

I just took delivery on a new 530i (will post pics soon) and have a quick question about the shifter knob. I have a 6-speed and the knob comes off easily if I lift it up.
Is this normal? Are any of you replacing the stock shifter with something different?

The knob can be taken off by pulling it up, but this shouldn't be easy, you should need some force to get it off. If it comes off so easy, then have your dealer check it out for you.
