My Ride: E46 330ci Clubsport

Hi guys,
Currently on the lookout for an E60 with a view to buying later on in the year. I'm in the UK and part of the reason for upgrading to an E60 is to make the switch to Diesel.
So, the criteria will be:
*
Sport/M-Sport
Grey ideally
Black leather
Widescreen Nav
Auto
Xenons
*
As a minimum. I'd like the newer style 2008 on joystick gearbox but i think in my budget of around £11k i'd be better off getting a lower mileage gen 1.
*
I can see the MPG on the tried and tested 520d is pretty good, and averaging 45 would see me save around £70 per month, which would help outweigh against the approximately £180 per month i'd have to pay to buy one.
*
but... the 530d's are awesome, performance wise, same price really too, but would lose that £70 per month saving so it's quite a lot to pay i think for some extra power, and i might be better off buying a remap on a 520d instead.
*
The reason for my post though is to see if anyone has any experience of the 525d. They do 10mpg less than the 520d, but with the same bhp (albeit they have 40 ft/lbs more torque). Just wondering if the drivability is good, as to me, it seems to have the downsides of both the 520d (power) and 530d (economy).i have heard though they do alright after being remapped?
*
There seems to be a lot of variants on BHP on various websites, is it as simple as they changed the engines along with the gearbox as that'll make it easier to spot in adverts.
What mpg should I realistically expect (uk gallons) in each model ? I get 29mpg out of my manual 330ci Clubsport.
Any input appreciated, pic of the Clubsport and previous 330ci Sport below too!
