My Ride: Audi A3 1.8T Quattro - Looking to purchase a 535D
![Default](https://5series.net/forums/images/icons/icon1.gif)
Hi,
I am looking to purchase an E60 535D around 2004/05.
I would like people's opinions of the car itself (good & bad) and also what to look out for when buying (common faults etc)
Thanks in advance
Liam

Hi Liam
Only very few diesel owners here.
Take a look at BMW 5 Series Owners Board and you'll find a lot more owners there.

Very good engine and transmission, very reliable.
One of my best friends has a 535d and (he's a little crazy) pushed it to the limit with 380hp only from ECU tuning + direct exhaust, the car is runing now just fine after 50.000km.
Always check it before buying in a BMW Service and ask them to do all the tests possible to see if the car is ok.

Cheers guys, I've got the money for one just wanted to know of anything to look out for. I used to own a E46 325Ci and was very happy with the performance, handling, styling etc... Need something bigger now though engine wise and physically.
Thanks
Thanks
