Last month I got a 2007 525xi, 6spd MT and love it . I would have preferred a 530xi but could't find a stick with the options I was seeking. That said, if the one you are looking at falls through there are now two 530xi, manual trans, where I got mine outside of Philly. The link is www.eimports4less.com.
Good luck,
Charlie

I bought a 2007 530xi CPO last year with 4yr/100k mile warranty. BMW was offering 2.9% financing at the time. I think they're offering 0.9% this year. In retrospect, I think I should have saved up just a little bit more for the 535xi. 530xi is a good car but I just wished it had a little bit more power. At the time, my thinking was that I didn't need the extra horsepower being that I was stuck in traffic 90% of the time. But during that 10%, I miss badly having that feeling of performance.

Have an 06 530xi and great family car. Not to rub it in again but it has limited power off the line but drives just like a BMW should. Installed dedicated winter tires this yr and I can get anywhere in the snow and ice with no problems. Marked difference from all-seasons. Good luck. Enjoy the ride.

Robb:

Nothing to add about the 530XI but wanted to comment that I too am getting an '07 530XI on Wednesday. Mine is a CPO w/only 8100 miles! Silver Gray / Gray, Prem, Cold Weather, NAV and Auto (wanted a stick but could not find one w/low miles). Similar price as yours, and my dealer gave us a generous trade for our '03 530i Sport/Stick (only 57K miles) too. This will be our 4th 5 series, and have to say, I've had good luck with them all. Can't wait!! Good luck with yours if you decide to get it!

i just bought a 2007 BMW 530xi with 128k on it.
When I was driving it home I went to pass a car and the bmw geared down white smoke came out the exhaust and I had a transmission warning on the dash n screen.
It seemed to be stuck in a middle gear would not shift up tach was reving a little higher then it should. I got home shut it off and waited a while then took it for a ride It was acting fine till i got on the highway then it did the same thing ?
I pulled 5 codes from the computer I don't even know where to start ? I just bought this car for 4950 today 10 mile before all this happened !!!
5 codes p1553,1434,0306,1328,17E3.

helppppppp

to the wonderful world of bimmers, Michael!

Did you buy it from a dealer or private seller? Did you review repair history and run a Carfax on it? Have you contacted the seller about it and what did they say?
