Default Looking to become owner

I am looking to get something with a bit better gas mileage(Currently in a Jeep SRT-8). I have never owned a BMW and honestly know nothing about them. I have been looking at the 3 and 5 series models and would like to know what to look out for, stay away from, etc.

Only thing I really WANT is an AWD model.

Teach me!

Since you you been driving those bad boys SRTs, I would suggest the M5 ( 3 series are too small for me). And since you want the AWD, 08 and up, 528Xi is ok but for a little kick, go for the 535Xi. They are not as beastly as the SRT but do have some kick. BMW have recently introduced the 550 Xdrive, which is AWD F10 body.
All cars have the good and bad, but you up keep them, they will keep on going. I have the 06 530Xi with 150K+ miles, and still running strong, with some of routine maintenance, wears & tears replacement. Their replacement parts are a bit pricey compared to domestic cars, so be ready for that (3x or 4x more). I have dealt with dealer before, seem like nothing they give me is under $1k for repair but the the oil change LoL. Therefore, I have to pull up my sleeves and with the help from the members from this forum, I get to keep my hard earned green from the Stealer dealers.
Went from Lexus and won't go back anytime soon, even Lexus is very reliable, but Bimmer are more fun. So good luck in your finding

Thanks quanger! It will be hard to get rid of the Jeep, but if they release the Hellcat Jeep I will be back in one.

Love the look of the BMWs, going to go to the dealership and spend a day driving different ones to see what I like.

What kind of stereo options are there for the BMW?

LoL, the thought of 707hp in that tall body scared the hell out of me. I would rather be closer to ground with that much power, like charger or challenger. Even then, I'll still fish tailing like crazy. Is that why you want the AWD? Haha. I don't think they will put that monster in the AWD or the jeep anytime soon or not at all. Keep your fingers crossed.
Good luck with BMW shopping. Even though I'm dreaming of Hellcat, but Im still preferred the BMWs all around performance, look and comfort.
Stereo? Don't know what they have now, but Logic 7 (7 amped speakers system) is the best option that you can get. I might be wrong though.
