Long break up with 535i
#1
Just thought I'd say a goodbye to my Roundel brethren. I loved my non-sport 535i for the two and a half years that I had it, only one HPP failure and it was fixed very quickly. However, I always wished for something just a little more powerful. I've still got 6/7 months on my lease, but went ahead and picked up a 2011 CTS-V tonight. It's a far different driving experience. The 5 seems a little more refined, but the V seems to trade some refinement (it still rides almost as well as wifes 2010 e350 on AMG wheels) for a LOT of go power. I hope I made the right choice, only time will tell. If not, I'll be back in a couple of years.
Thanks for the many good reads over the past 2 years.

Bad @$$!!!
It took me a few years to finally come around to liking the Caddy's "edgy" design and I've always preferred a Super Charger over a Turbo.
I'm waiting for the 6er Grand Coupe to get to market before I decide on what my next car will be, but I definitely plan on giving the CTS-V a good look.
Enjoy the car

Not the best, but an iPhone picture will do in a pinch.
It's been <40 degrees, so not much grip to the Mich. Pilot tires (wow! how expensive are they?) With the auto, 1st gear is totally useless as there is little chance of getting grip on a cool road. Selecting Manual- sport mode and taking off from second, it will be break the tires loose and the rear starts to come around at about 50 - 60mph!
Just rolling into the throttle very slowly puts 0-60 in the low fives. I can completely see how how 0-60 has been timed at 3.9 seconds.
Will try to update even if I'm no longer in the "club"
