I'm having a 12" JL W3 installed in my trunk today. I'm thinking I'll have the installer disconnect sound to the existing subs installed under the seats. The reason being the lack of sound quality coming from the existing ones.
Thoughts?

As far as the W3 install, the logic 7 subs will only compliment the sound of the W3, which will have a much lower frequency response range than the H/K L7 subs. Set the equalizer on the low end to the highest low pass frequency in the I-drive and you will lose the thump from the 8 inch subs, which will be compensated by the W3.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.

You could set them to flat. Or, you can set the lower 2 frequency ranges to highest pass setting, I forget the actual numbers on the equalizer. This will be achieved when both bars are all the way downward on the screen, and should effectively drown out all of the base response on the L7 subs.
I personally would leave it as is and see how it sounds. I think it will be fine, even with the addition of the W3.
