Ok, I've seen a lot of opinions on here re: Logic 7 and whether or not it's worth it. It's my first poll here and I thought it would make it easier for new visitors so they don't have to look at hundreds of posts for L7 tidbits. Here's my take: if you want decent sound and you want it integrated in with iDrive, there's no other option out there. Done. Thanks. The reason I asked for Logic-7 owners only is that a quickie test drive/listen isn't enough to know, imo. If someone really did an extensive listening test and after that decided not to order, then please vote.

The BMW Logic7 system is by far the best OEM system I've ever heard. It's almost as good as the competition systems I've had in past cars, and it's completely integrated with the car. To get the level of integration with an aftermarket system would be prohibitively expensive.

Could the bass be a little "tighter?" Yes. That could be solved by another EQ band at like 60Hz, or an adjustable crossover or a parametric EQ band. The highs are excellent, and the sound fidelity at high volume is superb.

I totally agree with mrBelk. I'm sure aftermarket subwoofers can be added, like the ones available from Bavauto.com. I'm not really a serious audiophile and already have some hearing loss due to the nature of my occupation (being around aircrafts and turbines), Logic 7 is far better than the standard sound system offered in the 5er.

The best sound system I've heard in a car. Really tight bass, and the separation is superb. I can't wait to get my Sirius installed!

Logic 7 is truly the way to go. I drove our Exterra Sat. and when I heard the sound I wanted to cringe. I never really knew it made that much of a difference. I was once impressed with the sound in the Exterra. Now I am tainted by L7

To get an integrated system and be covered under the BMW warranty plus get great sound is def. worth it.

The bass could use a little more tweaking but that comes from a former professional bass player (me).

I would have to disagree, although i heard the bose system in the S class a while ago, but as i remember, it did sound better than the Logic 7 in the BMWs, also the infinity Gold system in the Jeeps are pretty good as well. The soundsystem is superb in the BMW, but its just the bass that turns me off . Its more of listening to the bass then FEELING it! BTW *offtopic* the bose home theatre systems really suck for some reason.

Once again, after posting, ive had a change of mind. I went and messed with the equalizer and the Logic 7 Options, after playing around for a while, i had the sound set just the way i like it, a little more power at the rear cabin, with lotsof bass! I suggest everyone to give it a try, it improves the enjoyment of listening the system by 200%!

Matrix; thank goodness you played around with your Logic 7... I've never been able to get acceptable sound out of car OEM BOSE systems. You had be worried for a moment!
