Indeed from trunk we can reach the ampli, up there left when you take out the inner trunk-wheel well cover nice silver box.

Thats not the only difference.
The system is more powerfull and has 16 speakers instead of 13 (Logic7)

The BMW name is "Individual High End Soundsystem", but as it is based on a technique called DIRAC, from a company called... well, Dirac, it's often called "DIRAC" instead. You'll find more here http://www.dirac.se.
