In my opinion with other cars (I have not listened to the BMW L7 yet), the DSP modes usually sound worse with music. I have only found modes like that useful with surround sound while watching movies.
Again, I think most DSP modes with music just sound worse.

I am very glad that the last few posters chimed in on this. Total agreement here. Since I don't have my new bimmer yet, I'm not sure which of the three options I will use, but three's enough, for music, imho. For all movies I watch at home, it's DTS 5.1 if possible and Dolby Digital 5.1 if not.
