If the car is locked, u can't get into or out no matter what. Even if u press the unlock button, its not going to work so don't smash ur windshield. Bmw assist needs u to have subscription to remotely unlock ur car.

Option 1: drill a big hole into ur taillight and reach ur hand in there to use the trunk release handle.
Option 2: get ut title, registration, insurance, ur id, as much as u can and go to bmw to get a new key. This is the best way and now u have a spare.
Just go with option 1 and drill into the taillight or trunk and get a trunk finisher or LCI tails afterwords

Thats not true. I had my car towed and when I went back to get it there was the orange ticket inside my car....

i think even if you smash your window, have AAA or locksmith open your car, it would just trip the alarm and once you get in you CANNOT still open the trunk. IM NOT SURE about this though. it happened to my old Lex SC300. AAA was able to unlock the doors but CANNOT open the trunk. i guess unless you can drop down the rear seat. I ended up buying new set of keys, laser cut so sh*t, couple hundred dollars.

i would say call the number they provided and ask them if they can do remote unlock. its free to ask.

BMW assist sounds like the best option - whatever it might cost - IF anything (I kinda have a feeling they can be "persuaded" to do it for free once, as courtesy of some kind... ) GL man

I khnow it is probably an urban legend...but have you ever seen the post about the 10 things you never knew a cell phone could do? One of them was unlocking your door by have someone with the spare key press the unlock button on the remote, while you are holding the phone near the car. Never tried it...but one day I will. LOL

Not possible. If there car's not enrolled, it can't be done. If the car were newer and supported remote unlock, then the OP could possibly enroll and then - a certain amount of time after enrolling (probably within half a day) - have BMW unlock it. But it's a moot point for this vehicle.

You don't press the unlock button. AAA uses a bent tool to pull the door handle. The alarm will go off but the trunk will still open when the trunk release button is pressed.

I KNOW FOR A FACT THIS WORKS ON 2004 545I US. I'VE DONE IT TWICE.

Just tried this out of curiousity. It worked!! We need to try it again when the car and the key are further apart to be certain that the signal wasn't getting there through the house, but it did not appear to be reaching the car without the phone.
