Today I was attempting to hard wire my dash cam by taping into the wires behind the rear view mirror. After taping into the red wire for power and brown wire for ground, I noticed that my car no long makes a confirmation noise after I lock my vehicle. I tried going into the idrive and selecting confirmation noise but it would not let me. Every time i select the setting, it would uncheck itself.


I fried my mobius dash cam, smoke was coming out of the camera, forgot i needed a 12v to 5v converter.
Does anyone know if those wires have to do with locking/unlocking confirmation for my vehicle/frying the alarm cpu?
