Put my 545 in for repairs y'day, and got a loaner car on behalf of someone else's insurance company (the lady that hit my rear bumper).
First of all, all they had for me was a brand new Vauxhall Astra 1.8L SRI.
oh my god. has to be the slowest car i've EVER driven.
but later they delivered me a brand new MB C180 Kompressor.
oh my god, the Astra was quicker than this!
engine was the worse noise I've ever heard. FAR too many switches in the car. stereo was shocking. indicator stalks were like that from a Ford (in fact that's harsh on Ford). brakes had to be stamped on to work. the auto gear lever is the crappiest design i've ever encounted. kick down just couldn't make up it's mind.
basically, i'm so glad i have my car .. i just can't wait to get it back!

Funny thing is I went to the Autoshow here in Orlando, FL yesterday night, and I toke a look at a bunch of New Mercedes Benz models and BMW's. BMW's blow Mercedes Benz away in how they feel more expensive then that of the competing models from MB. I looked at the new ML350 vs the X5. the ML350 felt as if it should be priced like a Hona pilot price. even the X3 felt of better quality and finish. That center console armrest area for the E-Class is horrible, what were they thinking of adding a sliding wood panel where your arm is to rest??!! and those aweful buttons on all MB products feel like they belong in a Volkswagen. there is no doubt in my mind that BMW still has the winning formula. PS they had a new E60 M5 to sit in. all I have to say is WOW def worth the 85K price tag.

you have to pull a lever under the dash to release the brake, then push a pedal to apply it!
try a handbrake turn in one of those!!! i don't think so.

Some of the many reasons why MB is laying people off.
