So my E60 had a very strange noise that came from passenger rear wheelwell everytime you came to a dead stop. One dealer said "dont worry its normal ON A 04 Sport Edition 530 with 6 MT" lol. Anyways the other dealer kept the car because of safety concern. Now after replacing everything related to Action Body Roll Mechanism, the noise did not go. They will keep the car till Friday when a BMW tech specialist comes down and takes a look. Sucks.

All my mods are on hold.

At least they gave me an LCI 528 Space Silver as loaner this time (instead of the Chrysler).

You gotta love the "oh its normal" answer.

I'm not sure if that is worse or "we don't quite know what is wrong but we'll start replacing parts". Nothing like playing with your check book

Sounds like a pump. Or the kind of sound you would hear if you turn on your water geezer. Very low and have to pay attention to hear it. As you stop the noise comes. When you move the car, the noise continues but cannot hear even more.

On both my old 530xi (and my new M5) I got a sound coming from the passenger, rear wheel well every now and then when I get home and turn off the car. It sounds like a whirring noise, and then all of the suddens there's a "POP!" that sounds like steam releasing from a valve, and then it stops. I never hear it driving though. It's certainly "normal" considering it's exactly the same now as it was in my old E60.

Does this sound like what you are experiencing? I am not sure what a water geezer is.

DrLev99 - I think what you have described is how mine sounds like as well. But the sound is not every now and then, it comes everytime you stop the car from going forward or reverse. While driving the noise seems like increases its frequency with the speed. Very annoying if you have passengers sitting in the car and you come to a full stop. And there is no POP that could make me feel that something finished its cycle.

Called the dealer again. This time he needs more parts ordered. According to him, they have replaced the steering system, the ABR pumps and sealings. Now its the control module or something they will be replacing.

Next wednesday the part will arrive
