Little metall ball roling around in DVD player

It sounds like I have a little metall ball roling around in DVD player.
The sound is not related to movement of the car. It almost sounds the gyroscope of the NAV is making all this noise when it is trying to find a position.

Why does the GPS keep making whirring sounds even when the car is off?
