Hi all, on my 525d when Im moving off the car drops power for a very short time then carries on as normal. Its not a huge deal but a little irritating when coming away from a junction etc.
Anyone else had it?
04 car
maf replaced (no difference)
flaps removed (no difference)
egr cleaned (no difference)
remapped (no difference)
Its only got 50k on it and FSH so its relatively fresh.
Thanks all.

Hi,
Is this a recent problem or has it always been like this (or a new car)? is it auto or manual
I had a '55 525d and always was frustrated with the gearbox. The problems were due to the box being too slushy at low revs, a laaaarge turbo lag and 2nd/1st gear changes.
This issue you describe sounds similar to mine. Therefore it may be just that as you pull away, the combination of turbo lag coupled with the slow, slushy gearbox either engaging or changing to 1st may feel like a loss of power.
Try it in D/S and see if it is any better.
If not (i.e. you have a manual) it could be a problematic turbo ...
Hope this helps.

On my last car the turbo began spinning at 1,200 revs, and below this there was no power whatsoever! If I tried to pull away quickly bu drop the clutch too quickly I'd loose all go!

oh there is no power, but when moving off the car starts moving and then the power drops, then picks up again and away you go. Where you would expect a linear growth in power/revs
