My Ride: '04 530d Executive, all options except sunroof and comfort seats
ECU remapped by ZipTuning to 260+bhp.
So, i went to a friend of mine in Germany for a weekend. As a friend of mine drove, i decided to park my car next to my shop (it's secured and no little kids can get to it).
As it was hot friday, i opened up the windows and drove to my shop. As i arrived i closed the windows, but my right front window didn't go all the way up. (It does that sometimes because of the jam-detection, need to get that reset at the dealer)
I didn't notice it, locked the car and drove off with my mate.
I got a call saturday night from my neighbouring shop that the window was open and that i should close it because it was going to rain.
As i was 200 miles away, i called my businesspartner and he closed it for me, but he also told me that it had rained fridaynight and the car was a little wet inside.
I picked up the car today and it (luckily) wasn't that bad, but i noticed the leather on my passengerseat was a bit discolored (and the floormat was dirty, but i'll just pop that in the washingmachine).
Now my question (finally...):
What do i need to look out for (beneath the carpet and stuff) and what can i do to clean up the leather a bit?
I already drove around with the A/C on full to let it dry out a bit.

I'm no detailing expert, but I do know something about leather goods from a side business. In general, when leather gets wet, the best thing to do is leave it alone. Artificial air drying can cause it to crack and curl. Just let it dry naturally--get it out of direct sunlight and open the windows. Then wipe it with a slightly moist (a little water and a little white vinegar) cloth to get up any residue from air particulates/pollution, then apply Lexol or a similar leather nourishment product to replace the emollients lost due to evaporation.
As for the carpets, I would use a powerful wet/dry vac to suction up all the water possible. Then, I would go at it for a bit with a hair dryer (away from the seat leather, of course). That should take care of it. If it starts to smell, then mold/mildew is trapped underneath the carpet and you'll need to pull it up and disinfect. Good luck.

Well, it dried up already, as it happened last friday and i didn't get to the car until today.
It was a hot weekend here, so most of it had dried up.
Good for the leather, bad for the carpets, no chance for a wet/dry treatment now.
I'll check if it's going to smell in the next couple of days and i'll take it to a professional cleaner for the carpets.
I'll pick up some leather treatment materials tomorrow.
Thanks for the info!
