Lights failure

I started my car to leave the office and got an I-Drive warning that it's possible that none of my exterior lights are working, accompanied by a red warning on the instrument cluster display.
True enough, no indicators, no brake lights and head lights on low beam regardless of the headlight switch position.
Dealer says that they have never seen this before.
Sounds like some light control module must have failed.
Anyone come across this before?

Still not working. Just checked again now after car was parked for 3 hours.
Car was at the dealer yesterday to have a section of the steering column replaced involving the removal of the kick panel under the steering wheel.
Also the rear seat was removed to sort out a rattle.
Not sure if either of the above work could have knocked a plug to a module loose somewhere?

My Ride: My ex-ride: EU '08 LCI 520dA. Space Grey, Sport Seats in Black Leather/Fabric Anthracite, Sport Steering Wheel, A/C with Extended Features, Hi-Fi Speakers, Cup Holders, Cruise with Braking function, Folding Rear Seats, Xenons, Park Distance Control.
Never and ever heard of this kind of malfunction before.
Must be somekind of an electrical breakdown.
Say hi to Mr. Gates.
Contact your dealer at once!
In Europe I could call a toll-free-number and get a replacement car in an hour!

Hey this is not Europe it's Africa!!
Some quich research shows that the module could in fact be in the area they worked when changing the steering column.
I will be meeting the dealer at 8.30am Saturday morning.
Let's see what they find (unless I find it first!!!).

There should be a lot of fuses in the trunk of your car.
(Up in the trunk "door").
Try those and if they don't work look fore some cut cables (somebody maight have done a trick on your fine car).
If you are lucky, there should also be a flash light in the clove compartment, on the left hand side.

Got the flashlight!
No this is not a fuse problem.
There is a specific light control module which I am sure is at fault.
It's 11.18pm , I am going to bed and will let the dealer check it out in the morning.

Just came back from the dealer.
There is no power at the light module which is located behind the headlight switch.
Fuses checked out OK and diagnostics pointed to a CAN BUS fault.
Hope they dont have to keep the car for too long.
Have an E90 320i loaner.

You'll get your car back Monday afternoon and I'm sure can live with the 320i 'til then.
Why did they change your steering column?
