Reading this it sounds like some of you guys need to eat more red meat. I "explore the limits" of my car on a daily basis, being fortunate enough to have a commute through farmland with twisty roads.

"...I would only try it once..." For cryin' out loud, lighting up the rear tires once in a while in a german car will not "overstress the drivetrain". If there is one thing you can say about German reliability, the cars are way, way overengineered for normal driving. When was the last time you heard about a driveshaft breaking in a German car?? Not in a stock car my friends. Yes, you will wear the clutch, but this is a relatively easy and inexpensive part to replace.

These cars were meant to be driven, and more than any other car, driven hard. That is one of the reasons I buy German cars, is they are engineered for much harsher treatment than we normally see in the US.

So have a little fun if you want and light the tires up. Your drivetrain is the least of your reliability worries on this car!

Damn I enjoyed my car in Europe, through Italy, South of France and Spain. On redelivery sometimes I really wonder if its worth it in this town. What the f@#k would I do with an M5. And the pavement (our roads) sucks too.
